Creative workshop and museum are located in Valaská Belá where weaving production has been known for centuries. Museum captures the long tradition of weaving in Valaská Belá. Hand-made dolls of various sizes are created in the workshop, building on the rich traditions of Belianska and Rudnianska Valley. Besides dolls, colorful rugs made by skilled hands of weavers attract the attention of visitors. Same as our ancestors, they also found a way to put redundant pieces of fabric to a great use and create useful colorful rugs from them. Modern yarns are also processed, however technique itself is still traditional. Other products made by the workshop are tablecloths, embroidery blankets, place mats which by their colors, patterns and processing are building on folk traditions. Even today they are used in the interiors of traditional Slovak folk chalets – kolibas and restaurants serving traditional Slovak cuisine and regional specialties. From traditional fabrics such as blueprint, lace, ribbons or buttons lovely souvenirs in shape of animals, hearts or flowers are made and a great experience is to watch how these products are actually made (dolls, rugs, place mats, etc.). Visitors can also try themselves how to weave linen on traditional weaving looms.
