Prievidza is an administrative center for Prievidza region. It is located in the center of Prievidza Basin which forms a central part of the Upper Nitra Basin. It is the 11th largest city in Slovakia. Accommodation and restaurant facilities of various categories, forest park with an amphitheater and summer cinema are all to be found in Prievidza. Exhibitions of great value are held in the Upper Nitra Museum, Regional Cultural Center with REGIONART Gallery and in art gallery Art Point in former Cinema Baník.
