Rock climbing area Hrádok – Kamenec pod Vtáčnikom (locality Hrádok SE wall 662 m a.s.l.) is located in Bystričany Valley in a mountain range Vtáčnik. It is a rocky area formed by an impressive and almost 100 m high andesite wall.
Access:
1. From Zemianske Kostoľany following the state road to Kamenec pod Vtáčnikom. From there take the forest asphalt road to the crossroads of Gepniar and Bystričany Valley (2 km). Turn right and across a small bridge to the no-entry sign to a parking lot (0,5 km). Go straight through the crossroads and then go across the bridge on the left (7 min). Turn left, up the hill taking the pathway or taking the overgrown forest road to the rocks (5 min).
2. From Gepniar Valley (cottage recreation area) standing on the large parking lot next to Kamenný potok (Stone Stream) go across the bridge on the right, above the Amphitheater (Forest Slovakia Enterprise ramp on the road). From there forest tractor road leads to another stream (10 min). Go across the stream, turn slightly right and start going up the path (at first mild, then steep) to the ridge (5 min, on the left are visible rock formations, towers). Then you continue following the contour line to a felled area and from there to a large scree slope below the rocks (7 min).
