ZOO Bojnice is the oldest and most visited zoological garden in Slovakia. It was opened for public on 1st April 1955. Currently it covers an area of 41 acres. The activities of the ZOO include live animal displays, raising of some of the endangered species, its aim is to have educational impact on public regarding environmental and biodiversity protection, it also manages national rescue center for confiscated and seized animals, specialized employees of the ZOO actively cooperate with CITES and National Nature and Landscape Protection and at last but not least zoological garden provides its visitors with great opportunity to relax.
